Personally I'd go Luis Gonzalez but neither compares to the impact that Gwynn had with the Padres. That's why I was calling it a reach. Goldy very well could be the "Mr. Diamondback"

Most interesting part of the deal is that StL really didn't need Goldy, but seemed to think the price was too good and they couldn't get other positions filled that they needed.

Time to trade Jose Martinez.

Yeah, some of the Cardinals bats are going to have regression on them next year, imo, and Goldy is going to be a great addition. I think in order to compete for a playoff spot they actually did need a bat like this.

I agree. Their 2018 win total was a little hard to read. They won 22 games in August. No chance that they do that again. Hopefull, along with some player regression, they see a couple guys step it up. Especially Fowler. He needs to hit better than .180. Good gads, they guy needs to be hitting at least .250.

Ozuna could definitely have a better power year next year, too, but Molina and maybe Carpenter falling off a cliff wouldn't be surprising.
