He hit another on-the-nose to the OF, and got another single taken away from him on a very nice defensive play. Played flawless in the field too.

I believe it was 7 IP and 1 run, 8 IP and 1 run and 8 IP and 1 run. Just guessing but either way that is great. Anytime we can shorten that BP we have the better.

Last year when Klein came up I said he looked like a starter to me even though he'd never been one. Mostly because of his height and and average velocity. He reminds me a little of Chris Young.

I'm starting to wonder if Blanks is this year's Kouzmanoff. Both were at one time top prospects in the Padres organization and both had brief stretches of success with SD before getting derailed by injuries or just awful slumps. I specifically remember when Blanks first came up how many scouts and even fantasy analysts were excited about his potential and preached patience with him.

Kouzmanoff was able to sustain his success last year until the injury. Maybe Blanks can keep it going too. He wouldn't be the first Ranger to bloom really late after faltering with his original club (Nelly).
