Started following the NBA in 1970. First Wilt was the GOAT...then along came Kareem.

Both are still in my top 10. In fact, I have Kareem as my #2.

For whatever reason, Dr. J falls in the Dominique Wilkins category for some.

His greatness has always been overshadowed by bigger personalities and he never gets his due.

This is true. Additionally, Dr. J started in the ABA, so most of what he did early in his career was not seen by NBA fans.

Yeah, Kareem gets overlooked by a lot of folks because he was aloof and wasn't well liked by the media back then. Heck, as much as I love the Lakers and loved Kareem...I had him at #3 for years. Then I got to looking a little closer at his career and realized just how much he had accomplished and moved him up.

It's crazy to look at Kareem's resume and him NOT be universally and unequivocally considered the GOAT. Crazy.

He is the GOAT in my opinion.

Kareem is the only guy that I don't mind people putting in front of Jordan.

Wilt was an unstoppable force in his prime, but i didn't really follow the Lakers 'til '70...

he was pretty much in decline mode by then...
