Yup Titans just used the Eagles name because it is an easy one for the Chargers to believe. And Chip has never said he's not trying to get Mariota, just that it would likely cost too much. Titans are trying to get more out of the Chargers.

1) Trade everything for Mariota.
2) The players get pissed around week 10 when Mariota is below average, the team is 3-7, and Chip can no longer be trusted.

He did not have to give up the farm to get any of those players. There is a difference between signing players and giving up all of your good defensive players for someone on offense.

Another ESPN reporter is saying the Titans are denying they got an offer from the Browns.

I think Cleveland is our competition for MM, not San Diego, when push comes to shove. We'll see what happens.

The best team next year out of all of these mentioned will be the Titans if they get Philip Rivers. Chargers have the inside track because of that. No one else can make an offer that keeps Whisenhunt his job.

Actually the best thing for Whisenhunt to keep his job is to draft Mariota. No one would fire him if he played a rookie QB and lost. That's considered safe.
