Even though I quoted you, I was just making it clear for others that what happened is not the defensive players fault. Shit similar to that happens all the at 2nd base when there is a double play situation. More player get hurt at second base than catchers do when bang-bang- plays happen at home plate.

Anyways, here is a better gif, brought to by the Cuban league.

That looks like an accident too:whistle:

kick 100% looks intentional. Bryce was still within reach of the bag, so none of this "overslid the bag" stuff. That is a reasonable slide.

Did this happen today? I bet a fine is coming.

It's rotational momentum from the throw and not avoidable. Does someone have a more complete video so you can see the twist from the throw?

I'm not saying there's anything wrong with the slide but the thrower managed to keep his entire body behind the bag and the impact to the head is on the far side. There's nothing more he could have done.

I take it many of you have never played 2nd base while playing baseball? There is nothing intentional about momentum causing your to leg lift & swing as it follows your hips.

Seriously, though, if a guy has a bat in his hands like that, why are you still going at him?

There's no shame in backing down from a bat swung at your face.

From what I read, that was a pitcher who just hit 2 batters high & tight, and the guy with the bat was on-deck when he hit the second batter.

I don't think it was intentional at all. Harper went in hard, fielder was making a throw. Incidental collision.

I take it many of you have never played 2nd base while playing baseball?

I was a 2nd baseman on my JV high school team (moved to 3rd when I went to varsity) and I can honestly say, I really don't understand why baserunners slide into the base like that. It's basically asking to get a foot in the face. I know whenever I was gunning it for second, I always got as low as I could on a slide and kept my head down.

I know Harper is trying to break up a double play, but there better not be a fine on that since Harper is basically asking for a foot to the face with a slide like that.

Example of said arrogance?

46, you Bryce fans are something else how you pretend this guy isn't the least bit unlikable or arrogant. He is second only to Josh Hamilton in all of baseball. Just admit it. Go ahead, you can do it! :suds:

Exactly. Contact is bound to happen in some form when you slide in & pop up like that. I've taken my fair share of spikes to the ankle & shin over the years. For both sides, it comes with the territory when plays happen at second base.

He is just not a likable person. We can circle jerk around all night with the Bryce Harper fanboys, or you can just chill out with your man crush.

I'm not sure what you mean by examples. You can watch the guy for 30 seconds and he's dripping with arrogance.

I'm not sure which gimmick is more annoying, between the "Harper's such a douche!!!" or "Puig's an uncontrollable animal ZOMG" or "Puig's not using, he's just a gym rat."

That was obviously incidental from the follow through.

Also he was past the base at impact. You can't blame the fielder for that.

This is the firat post of yours I think I've ever agreed with!

Feels weird saying it
