he Athletic's Grant Paulsen reports the Redskins want to run more 21 personnel (two running backs, one tight end) with rookie Antonio Gibson and Derrius Guice or Adrian Peterson on the field at the same time.
Redskins declared Gibson as a wide receiver at No. 66 but he'll assuredly transition from Memphis as a multi-purpose weapon. Arguably the most efficient player in the nation (15.6 yards per touch) last year, Gibson led all FBS receivers and running backs in yards after contact per attempt (8.0), mounting an otherworldly 33 broken tackles on 71 touches with the Tigers. Given Washington's lack of offensive weapons, there's clearly more than enough room for Gibson to line up either out wide or in the slot while Guice and Peterson stay glued to the backfield. New Redskins OC Scott Turner previously experimented by giving Curtis Samuel nine carries over Carolina's last four games in 2019, likely envisioning Gibson in a similar role this upcoming year.

This is fine, but how does MCkissic, Love or Barber fit in? All are receiving backs. Only using two Wr's I guess it has to be Mclauren and Harmon. So where does Sims fit in? We don't have a great TE on the roster right now. Hunter Bryant from Washington looks like the best receiving TE out there right now.

Looks like Gibson is going to be on the field for EVERY play. Should have good fantasy numbers. lol

The upshot is that the Redskins may have a different emphasis than we have grown used to over the past 5 years. We may see a roster that has 4 running backs, 4 wide receivers, Gibson, and just two tight ends active on gameday (remember that there will be 48 players who could see the field in 2020 - not 46). This would give the offense the ability to truly stress the defense through scheme and speed.

So the Four backs are Guice, Ap, Jd, and Barber. The 4 Wrs are Tmac, Sims, harmon, Latimer. Then Gibson. The two TE are Thomas and Sprinkle. Where does Love fit in all of this?

Got to let the camps and preason play out first but i am for more player makers i said months ago we get chase young the heart of the draft 3-5 all should be offense playmakers so in 4th rd go TE,WR 6 7 7 go back to dline oline or olb

Feels like the redskins w are trying to become this years version of the niners.

They picked their Bosa, and got their multi talented player too. The niners have one of those as well, named sweeny maybe?

The niners had a decent running game, one true weapon on offense (Kittle), a stifling defense, and a bunch of bit parts - sanders, the sweeny character, etc.
