Per Baggs:

Guillermo Moscoso was acquired from the Cubs for a player to be named later or cash considerations. Moscoso, 29, is 7-5 with a 3.93 ERA in Triple-A for the Cubs this season. Moscoso has a 4.16 ERA in four big league seasons with the Rangers, A’s and Rockies. In the last year he has been waived three times.

Looks like he is a starter. Potential 5/6 guy for next year.

Maybe a body to fill a spot after the Timmeh trade that is coming???

OK

Schulman reports that he will report to the Giants tomorrow and that Sabes stated that he was acquired to add SP options.

Spit-balling here...

DFA Zito?

I'm actually a bit hopeful about this one; when he's right, he's a legit #3. He's in his physical prime, and we have a good track record of working with reclamation pitchers.

Bears watching...

Doubtful. I'd think he'll be assigned to AAA and if brought up would send Le Grope to the bully.

But what 40 and 25 moves will be made?

Seeing as Dunning was sent down today, maybe Tanaka is DFA'd?

From CSNBA:

Moscoso, 29, was with the Cubs' Triple-A affiliate in Iowa, but is expected to report to the Giants big league club and add a capable arm to the back end of the rotation when he is activated on Saturday

This, with Vogey coming back in the next couple weeks does bode well for Zito.

Cain aint going anywhere, unless they decide to shut him down for the year.

Bum aint going anywhere. This is his coming-out year. He needs to build up his end-of-year durability anyway.

Gaudin MAY be moved back to the bully, but I think he has earned his rotation slot.

Timmeh may be DL'd for a little bit, but I would think he wants to pitch to build his market. DLing or sending him to the bully may affect our chances f re-signing him.

Zito cant pitch to save his live right now. Bully, DL or DFA is in his future, it looks like.

This. At the risk of sounding repetitive, I honestly think the best thing that Zito can do right now is learn how to throw a knuckleball. I think a knuckleballer would do very well in our park, given its field size and the winds. What does he have to lose? If it works, it might add 6-8 years on to his career.

Romo is traded and Timmy is the new closer. He becomes the next Dennis Eck and makes the HOF.

How about getting rid of Belt , any takers out there ? He fucking blows, I am tired of him getting so many opportunities yet proving over and over again that he is a marginal MLB player at best.

You think Detroit would consider giving us Cabrera for him? How about shipping him to Miami for Stanton?

Who do you propose the Giants put at 1B after he is dealt? Posey? Wo catches? Panda? Who plays 3B?

Belt can be frustrating, I acknowledge. But Matt Williams was frustrating as well, until he wasn't. Belt is actually putting up MLB average numbers for a starting 1B. Not a star, but certainly not a detriment out there either. And he is basically playing for free, so lets keep him.

If some team wants to give us greater value than what is for the Giants, than sure, trade him. But that won't happen, so he gets at least one more year with us.

i agree with you on some points, but with the Matt Williams comparison, looking at the numbers(all i have to go by since i didnt get to see Matt play at the beginning of his career), Matt was younger and it took him a lot less games to get it together. not saying Brandon wont, but he's extremely frustrating to watch right now.

How about we take Belt..and we'll give you Ike Davis ??

Both would benefit with a change of scenery....

*Ike's dad is an ex pitcher, who retired as a Giant (1988)

Noway the Giants make that deal, without the Mets sweetening the pot with a substantial prospect (not Wheeler-substantial, but a solid prospect). Right now, Belt is an average starting MLB 1B. Davis is playing himself out of the game.

Belt is not eligible for FA until '18 while Davis hits it in '17. Davis is also already making $$ (3.5M vs .5M for Belt).

Davis does bring the power that we yearn for, but will he bring it to AT&T? Especially when he currently does not have it at Shae.

This is a good idea to start with, though. It would just need some considerable tweaking to make it appen.
