No denying that but every QB gets overpaid. It's the nature of the league. WRs and edge rushers now being paid what the QBs were less than 5 years ago. The money has gotten way out of control and teams are stuck trying to keep up with other teams. Approximately 1/4 of the league paying their QB over 50 mil AAV is nuts but it is what it is.

Back to the topic at hand, simple mathematics for Jones and the Giants ala Derek Carr in Vegas and Russell Wilson in Denver. He'll be cut in the off-season anyway and the team is likely picking in the top 3 ( maybe even 1st overall after the loss to the Panthers) so no use risking the injury guarantee. Worst case scenario is that DeVito actually gives them a spark and they fuck up the draft position although the QB draft class is pretty weak anyway.
