I dont get it.... I posted this on the mariners board, hence my kyle seagar question, but wow. baseball.....just shaking my head.

I dont get it, he's not that good (30 million, largest contract ever) of a player. I mean he has light tower power sure. But with all that power, he's never hit 40 hr in a year. If he gets 30 million a year, What in the world will Trout get?

Hell looking at their lines, what will Seager get??? Again baseball just throwing around ridiculous contracts.

89run 37 hr 105rbi, .288 avg Average RF defensively
71 run, 25 hr, 96 rbi, .268 avg Gold Glove 3b

Liked Mike. Giancarlo seems at least a bit pretentious, however. In any event, im all in on the marlins.

How the hell would the Marlins be able to afford anyone else if this deal goes through?

To be honest this bugs me a whole lot less than the international free agents. At least Stanton has proven he can smack the shit out of major league pitching. The $100+ million for guys like Tomas is absurd.

If this deal goes through, I'm cancelling the MLB Extra Innings package next season.

Not really, but I won't like it.

I say let them get whatever they can. If the owners are willing to pay it, the players would be fools not to take it. Its not my money and when it gets to the point where they make it too expensive for me to go to games any longer, I'll just stop going and root from home.

The cost of a baseball game is already prohibitive.

Yeah I only go to a hand full of games a year. 9 buck beers, 6 buck hot dogs.....

Trout's already over $30MM a year. If you look at his contract, in the free agency years that the Angles bought out Trout will be making $33.25MM per year. If Trout keeps his performance at this level, he could get north of $40MM per season when his FA comes around.

Baseball is rolling in cash - making much more than it ever has - and if the players don't make it, the owners will.

He's only 24 years old and has had two 37 HR seasons. He's also not just a power hitter - his OBP was almost .400.

Also, comparing Kyle Seager to Stanton is a fucking joke.

I think that's a very valid point. Further, just his durability as a whole. The leg issues for a power hitter of his age are concerning in my opinion.
