Marlins being Marlins...

Contract details:
2015 = $6.5m
2016 = $9m
2017 = $14.5m
2018 = $25m
2019 = $26m
2020 = $26m
2021 = $29m
2022 = $29m
2023 = $32m
2024 = $32m
2025 = $32m
2026 = $29m
2027 = $25m
2028 = $25m option

So, it is evident Miami has no desire to keep him past 2018. He'll be traded after 2017, or by August of 2018.

Have any of the guys they got back in the Reyes/Buehrle trade panned out? Seems as though Reyes would be a great guy to have hitting in the order ahead of Stanton.

Henderson Alvarez was pretty damn good last year, and he's only 24. Doesn't strike guys out, but he limits walks and gets ground balls.

Trout's already over $30MM a year. If you look at his contract, in the free agency years that the Angles bought out Trout will be making $33.25MM per year. If Trout keeps his performance at this level, he could get north of $40MM per season when his FA comes around.

Baseball is rolling in cash - making much more than it ever has - and if the players don't make it, the owners will.

I like your style.

How long before Loria tries to void Stanton's contract or send him packing? This is not baseball.

Stanton will be on the quiet trading block when Jeffrey Loria gets strapped for cash and is looking to dump assets. Worst owner in MLB history after Frank McCourt!
