don't know $ yet

but now that he's fat and sassy, I'm not sure he's a great pick for the survivor game
also, does this improve or reduce the ability to sign Perry?

Calgary hasn't won in Anaheim in something like 9 years (03/04 season was their last victory).

From what I understand they have the money. I guess it's going to be up to Perry. It would suck to see him traded before the deadline considering how well the Ducks are playing, but they'll probably do it if they can't get a deal done. Murray doesn't want to get nothing for him like he did with Justin Schultz.

That's the max extension you can hand out to your own player under the new CBA, correct?

Didn't somebody say just a few months ago something along the lines of "We simply feel that we are paying the players too much money".

Oh yeah, it was Gary Bettman.

yes, 8 years for your own player. 7 for a UFA

big money.
career high 25 goals, declining for the past 4 years since that happened.
seems to have picked it up this season again (contract year, whaddyaknow!)

That's what the media keeps saying, and Murray was quoted as saying that but I don't buy it one bit. Why would Murray come out and say he's going to deal him if he can't resign him? That kills his leverage in any potential deal. I think Murray said this as a bluff; if a knock his socks off offer comes his way, then maybe. It's a card game and he definitely isn't short stacked.

What do you think Getzlaf is worth on the open market? What would the Flames offer him? I mean if O'Reilly is worth 6.5M, Getzlaf is worth much more.

Not arguing that Getzlaf is worth more than ROR, my point was that the silly lockout hasn't done anything to stop escalating player's salaries...
