Gerhart by two miles. I'll wait for Locker to hand Sankey the ball before I hand him the "bell cow" job!

Agreed with TKO and Steelers. The other backs in JAX are not what you'd want for a lead back. Sankey had at least two guys that are of that type competing with him. I like Sankey, but not over Gerhert.

i like sankey better only because he is the mystery box... you know gerhardt will not be a RB 1, sankey you can get in the 4th round or later and who knows, maybe he will become an RB1... Sometimes the mystery box is worth the gamble... Not saying to take him over players like Stacy or vereen... But players like Gerhardt i would do that all day...

how do you know this? I certainly don't. Would I bet the farm on it? Probably not, but he's got just as good of a chance as Sankey does, and no learning curve. He's ready to go.

you dont know for sure but a 27 year old who gets his first chance to be a #1, i just dont have the faith in him to be a stud... Never said i wouldn't want him on my team, but i dont see him at best to be a low end fantasy #2... Sankey is the mystery box here, i feel like with his role he is already at worst a flex option, so why not take the gamble he will be better vs a player like Gerhart who has a lower ceiling...

again, sometimes mystery boxes are better than the sure thing...

wouldn't you rather have Sammy Watkins than Mike Wallace?? I know i do!!!

All logic points to Gerhart - therefore, I go Sankey. ;)

no, I wouldn't. More often than not the mystery boxes end up being the donkey behind curtain #2.

well i guess this is where we have different views... I dont mind taking the mystery box, especially if the player i could take instead has a lower ceiling... Middle rounds i look for the diamonds in the rough, not the consistent players who will likely be what they are...

I think both players are "mystery boxes." Both are later round draft picks whom nobody knows what to expect. I know several Viking fans who were high on gerhart before he left. Now he gets a chance to be a lead back and I think he's going to relish it. Age isn't a concern for either player. Gerhart may be older, but he also has light usage in the nfl. Even if both get a shot as the number one back for there teams, does anyone honestly believe that either team will display quality running games? I don't think so.

yes gerhart is a mystery too, but i dont see his ceiling to be to high, especially since he is a bruiser and not a speed guy... he will not get too many big runs- that is not a bad thing, but when you play for such a bad team like Jacksonville that type of back is a little over-rated... Especially an older RB, not sure how much i like that he is a bruiser, even if he doesnt have too much mileage...

I think gerhart had a lot of runs for over 20 yards last year on the vikes given the number of rushing attempts he had. I think he's got just as much upside as Sankey does this year. Also, word is the jaguars coaching staff is impressed with gerhart a speed. They though he was going to be much slower. I think he's got a lot more speed than you give him credit for. His age is a non issue.

Lol.. no doubts. . At least this one is debatable.

Recent backs who were backups to start out, traded/cut, given a shot at #1 on the new team, and became fantasy #1's
Priest Holmes
Ahman Green
Micheal Turner
Marshawn Lynch (depending on your take as to what he was in Buffalo)
Just to name a few off the top of my head.
Is not like Gerhert is starting a new trend. If both are "mystery boxes", we've at least had a sneak peak at the one and have somewhat of an idea of what we're getting, the other could be the next Lendale White. Gamble if you want Foot..I wouldn't.

This is not close IMO.

I think the difference between Wallace/Watkins and Sankey/Gerhart is the round you have to take them. The RBs are likely to go by the end of the 4th. IMO, the need to draft a productive player in the first 3/4 rounds is very high.

I don't know that Gerhart will be a productive player, but I think he will get more touches than Sankey.

As for the WRs in question, you are looking at a round 7 pick. At that point, you are better off gambling on some upside.
