Gears 2 is the best one anyway. I binge played the shit out of that back in its prime. Jacinto and Blood Drive is where it's at.

You should play them all. Dom is fucking annoying as hell though in Gears 1. He's constantly getting in the way or getting himself killed

Huge gears fan. 2 was absolutely the best. One of my top 5 favorite games of all time.

The first one when it came out was groundbreaking, but it felt very short, which was everyone's main gripe about it, compared to 2.

Would suggest getting the Gears of War: Ultimate edition which was released the past year. It's the first game, but they redid all the material to present on the Xbox one, and they also added a couple of new chapters of game play that wasn't in the original. It really made it worth it to play Game 1 if you never did.

I think it's pretty much impossible to beat the final boss on the harder difficulties with the CPU Dom. He walks straight up to the big locust mother fucker and gets downed immediately every single time.

Still, I much preferred Gears 1 over 2. 2 was just really underwhelming IMO. Played some 3 online once and it was alright but I never ended up purchasing it. Haven't touched Judgement and not sure I'll be getting the new one.

Best thing I remember about that first game was all the glitches you could do in the multiplayer. You could get the game to show your character holding a pistol when really they had the chainsaw equipped. You'd run up to someone, point the pistol at them, and if you were close enough they'd go through the chainsaw death animation. Best part was they wouldn't die until you switched back to your Lancer. And when you did switch their character would just fall into a bunch of pieces.
