This is my favorite gp post of all time, verbal or non.

Seriously. Rep. :whoo:

Also one of the best jokes on a 20+ year run of the best TV show ever.

How ya like my superlatives! Just yakkin on an off day for the Giants. Since they had the day off tonight we gotta come up with something to chat about.

Anyone here a big fan of Miguel Tejada?

He wasn't a bad player up to the age of 52.

What the heck happened you guys?

I guess pitching games like this will happen. But where were the bats? Did the Giants even TRY to make a game of it?

I know the Twinkies are hot right now, but dayum, this sucks. Nine runs in the last five games scored, two at least were gifts on errors.

At least we are not the Fish.

Twins staff had a 1.91 ERA over the last 14 games.

On top of this DOMINATING line...

The Twinks saw only 24 pitches the first time through the lineup. The Giants pitching must have been simply lights out tonight!!

Good to see.

Twins just aren't patient hitters, I guess.

Watching the first inning. Looked like about 5 batters into it, Bumgarner gave up trying to pitch, and just started laying the ball in there.

Here's his pitch fx plot:

Well, once he gave up 3 runs, he knew the game was over, so why bother. We had this problem last year, where the Pitchers went into a serious funk because they had to be perfect or they would be saddled with the loss.

SOMETHING needs to be done. I do not want to blow up the minors to pick up a guy like Reyes. That does not make sense. But SOMETHING. Call up Sanchez and Neal and trade RoRo for a bag of Doritos? Trade Durty for a prospect package? I have no idea. I know this is just a bad patch, but this IS the type of thing can get in the heads of players and ruin the whole year (it may have already happened to Torres and Huff, and now maybe Bum and Durty).

Last year, Sabes held a pitchers-only meeting and read them the riot act. After that meeting, The Giants had the best record in baseball, and they needed to buy new jewelry boxes. Maybe he needs to do something similar now, only target the offense...

Interesting reasoning by Bochy for playing Tejada and Hall over Crawford and Burriss:

I know Bochy took some grief for going with Tejada against a right-hander. And yes, Brandon Crawford would’ve made a play on Ben Revere’s grounder to start the game.

Bochy’s point: The team is going through a tough time and he thinks guys like Tejada and Bill Hall, who have been through it, might be better equipped to handle the mental grind.

Ideally, you want to introduce young guys when others in the lineup are producing around them. That’s not the case for the Giants right now, obviously.

Based on that I don't see the Giants bringing up any youngster from AAA. My best guess is they're going to gut it out with the players they got right now until after the all-star break. Although, I do think Belt when he comes off the DL/Rehab stint will be in the bigs.
