I like getting the ball in the 2nd half. First half your offense hasn't seen what the defense is doing. By halftime you should have them figured out and be able to sustain a drive. Ideal situation would be, get a stop, take the lead, get the ball back 2nd half with the lead.

That's how I would write the script!...

Yeah...that pretty much sums it up...got the butterflies just reading these last few articles on the game...I feel like we're "off the map" on this game, very hard to determine, especially since we have not been "here" in 9 years.

Trivial Factoid:

The 49ers won 11 of 16 coin flips and elected to defer each time.
Of the 5 coin flip losses, 2 were deferred which means the 49ers kicked-off to start 13 of the 16 games.

I don't know about you, but did seem like we were always kicking off to start the game.

Unless adverse weather conditions dictate otherwise - I think you put your strength on the field first. I would be surprised if NO elected to defer the KO when they win the coin toss.

I think I would choose to defer most of the time for the very reasons you stated - I want the first scoring opportunity of the second half...
