GDT: Rams vs 49ers 10-11-12

While I like that they don't get away from their gameplan too quickly, it seems like the gameplan has been too timid from the start today. Even just in the running game, they aren't using as much misdirection and odd formations as usual. Need to open it up a bit!

I agree if that was the call out of the huddle... But I think the call was changed when we came in to block the kick. I like it then.

As a fan I still wouldn't have liked it. As a coach it may have been different because I would have some idea of how my punter throws the ball in all kinds of conditions. If I'm a Rams fan, though, I don't want my punter attempting that with only a minute left. You're only up 7 and the opposing team has a 2nd-year backup QB in the game at that point. I know you have all three timeouts left at that point, but as a fan I wouldn't have been so pumped over that.

That's also why Parys Haralson was such a badass passrusher from the ROLB spot too.

Exactly. And I have never seen Aldon bull someone over or rush from the outside for a sack. I never liked Tim Ryan as an announcer anyway.

I liked that fake punt call too. It sure looked like they were prepared for that exact situation, looked very practiced and smooth, enough to be confident about it.

We faked a fg kick for a TD last yr against them. Kinds crazy they did it at that position but it worked. Maybe they wanted to give us a taste of our own medicine.
