Wow.....ouch.....good game Phils, you guys deserved this one.

Lee was good, not great. I didn't see anything great. I mean to me, I saw a 90-92mph fastball, a curve, a cutter and a change.

Take it easy on the guy, he lives in Philly, that's tough enough.

Goodnight Gents, we'll get 'em tomorrow.

You're a better man than me. The power would go straight to my head and all philth posts would revert to links of Howard caught looking.

We got 7 hits. Okay, I'm just trying my best to look on the bright side. Oh yeah, and Bum pitched pretty good. LOL at Duane Kuiper for saying that a glass-half-full person would think about how Chris Stewart at least made a flyout instead of GIDP.

Hey, I thought I left this place in decent order. A shutout by Lee was NOT what I had ordered. Someone has to pay.

The young San Jose Giants played well at High Desert tonight. There must have been dozens of fans in attendance.

Sat with some scouts right behind home plate, for $7.50 a ticket. They were all buzzing about Gary Brown's speed. The game began with back to back triples by Brown and Adrianza, and then a single brought in the 2nd run. Brown's hit should have been an easy double, but it turned into an easy triple. Guy can run. Adrianza's ball was lost in the twilight by the CF.

Brown looks scary fast, and a legit hitter. My impression, though, is that he tends to be a whiner. He looked at the ump several times to question balls and strikes. And he grounded out to 1st late in the game, on a ball right down the line. The 1B picked it up and tagged the bag for an out, while Brown was arguing with the ump that the ball was foul. It's one game, so what? The kid can hit, and has speed to burn. (He also stole a base, his 43rd, easily beating the throw.

The only other batter who stuck out was Anders (1B) who hit a laser of a homer deep to right.

Joseph looked good behind the plate, but not too impressive at the plate, going 1 for 5. He hosed a runner at 2nd to end the 1st inning, and threw a seed to 2nd. Runner never had a chance, and he had a good jump.

Heston pitched 7 innings and generally did well, struck out 7, walked one, but gave up 9 hits. Matos and Dunning each threw a scoreless inning, and both throw serious stuff.

My son and I are trying to go see the Baby Giants play in Lancaster on the 14th, and then at Rancho Cucamunga on the 26th.

We will beat the Philth tomorrow!

Sounds like you had a better time watching the SJ version.

Nice review of the game. I hope Brown's bat translates to the big show so he could use those wheels!

I agree someone has to pay but Filo being too much of a gentleman to flex his mod muscles :)

Well, the hitters weren't 'seeing' any of those...they weren't seeing Lee at all.

FUCK.

At the risk of being a HF myself.....

HF ALERT!!! :director:

:D

The Giants' O is making me very humorless indeed...

You may not need a strong offense to do well in the playoffs, but you need at least an average one to MAKE them. Otherwise the A's, Mariners, and Padres would have better records than they do.

I was more riffing on Charlie Manuels comments about Lincecum. :D
