Is there an issue with Keppinger leadoff? He seems to find a way to get on base a lot.

keep attacking the zone, Sanchez. that's better than walks.

Torres uses an awfully big bat. I wonder if he could be convinced to use a smaller one? Seems like Beltran has been talking with him and helping him, hope it takes. Torres may be a victim of his success last year. He is NOT a power hitter, but he may think he is.

I dont remember where I read it, but one of the beat writers said that Andy STATED he wanted to increase his power numbers this year. I HATED the comment when I heard it, and this season has proven my unease well placed :(

Any chance Brown is ready by next season?

I would have thought so, but the fact that the Gs never promoted him above SJ this year tells me that they see something that he still needs work on.

He was a college senior, so there is no reason to bring him along slowly. Really concerns me that the giants never advanced him.

But between him and Peguero, I think one of them will be a starter by mid-season.

I saw him play last night, and he has amazing speed. Not much power. Didn't have many chances in CF. Didn't take a walk, so not sure of his OBP. He can hit and is fast.

i'm sold. pencil him in for opening day

he can go the Brandon Belt route?

Belt was crushing balls in AA by this time. Brown isn't even hitting as well as he started in A-Ball right now. He will probably start in AA next year and if all goes well, MLB by 2013

He was hitting in the .360's a month ago, but has since cooled to about .315.

I had hoped he would get the called to the Flying Squirrels. I'd be surprised to see him before the end of next year. I think he has a chance, though. I'd certainly give him a shot.

no you guys are right. I was just proposing to make the move based on need, not on mlb-readiness
