Do the D-Backs usually trade within the division? If so, is there going to be extra cost?
That's part of the calculus I suppose. Then again, there's no guarantee they're going to sell either.

That's Buster's job, Naylor would be a nice solution for this year if he's reasonably priced. You do have to give to get, others will want him, and if I recall you rarely support trading any prospects at all?

I'd be fine giving up an arm that's not at the top of our new guys (Harrison, Birdsong, Whisenhunt)...like Beck perhaps? A couple relievers wouldn't be missed.

I'm fine with trading prospects, depending on the return value and whether the trade makes sense for the team. We've got plenty of arms that someone like Beck being shipped away is fine.

For what it is worth, here is what MLBTR said about a possible return on Naylor:
"Naylor wouldn’t have been on this list if you’d asked me a month ago, but the D-backs can’t seem to get Zac Gallen on track and are now without Corbin Burnes for the next calendar year-plus. They could trade Naylor, plug Pavin Smith in at first base and give some young hitters more time at DH. Naylor is earning $10.9MM and hitting .297/.352/.466 on a fading team that has a cheap in-house replacement already on the roster (Smith). He has a longer track record of productivity at the plate than O’Hearn but is the lesser hitter of the two at present. In general, I think their value is comparable, though, and sending a package headlined by a near-MLB player who’s probably not a top-100 guy but somewhere in the 150 range (i.e. a 45-FV prospect) seems reasonable. In the D-backs’ case, as with the Orioles, I’m sure they’d prefer that to be a pitcher."

We got a few arms like that I hope we trade a couple for him. Mid level guys not the big names. We never have a problem finding pitching prospects
