Good question - I would think there are rules governing this, but I don't know what they are. One thing it might affect is the field painting, if they haven't already completed that.

As damp as the Candlestick turf is, being below sea level, I'll bet the field gets wet even when covered. Anyway, I hope its not a complete mess when they play the game Sunday. Are you going?

Gotta be covered. I can't imagine what the field would look like if they've left it uncovered this whole time.

In approximately 48 hours, we'll be in the 4th quarter and I'm guessing we'll all be on the edge of our seats.....

I could use a laugher of a win for the Niners this weekend. Let the Ravens-Pats game have all the drama this weekend.

I would think there is a specific time before the start of the game when the tarp can be removed...At least that makes sense to me...

No. I have to be back in Arizona early Monday morning for something I can't put off. I'll watch it on TV.............every last excrutiating second of it.

Same boat....have to be somewhere Monday. Can't get from SFO to where I need t be in time. Probably for the best.

I hope it isn't excrutiating, but, after seeing the injury report I am a little worried.

Which team benefits more from a messy field, in your opinion? One analyst on NFL Network (Charles Davis, I think) said it would hurt the Niners because the speed of our front seven would be negated, which would be a break for a NYG offensive line that has dealt with injuries this year.

Those guys all seemed to be playing at full speed at the end of the game on Saturday. I think they'll be fine. I don't buy into those injury reports. As for it not being excrutiating, was there a game this season, other than Tampa, that wasn't a tight game? I can't remember one off hand.

It still hasn't completely sunk in that we're playing to go to the Super Bowl on Sunday. I keep expecting to wake up....

LOL. Are you saying Ted Ginn and Goodwin aren't as tough as the other guys?

Just saw on ESPN ticker. Ginn and Goodwin game time decisions..

Willis will play, Brown is probable. Looks like my "sources" were right. ;)

I'm not sure why some pundits seem to believe the field is only going to be wet on one side of the ball - I find that perplexing.

Anyway, I think perhaps the correct question here isn't "what team does it benefit the most" but rather "what team does it hurt the least". And, since this is our home field, our surface and we are playing in weather nearly all of our players have played in several times before I think it affects us the least...if that makes sense.
