He actually is not doing that badly. .288 / .369 / .424 / .793 over the season, but that was with a HORRID start. Over his last 10; .355 / .421 / .451 / .873. Not someone who is pounding on the door, but then all the rats are fleeing the room, SOMEONE needs to step in and take a spot.

Also, he is on the 40, and I THINK this is his last option year, so we might as well see if he has anything.

silver lining?

Sanchez pitched an otherwise nice game - with the rotation as the main beam supporting the Giants house, him getting back on track bodes well going forward.

Torres had a bad, imo, he gets a pass because he's been outstanding since coming back..the others who haven't carried their weight (you know who I'm talking about) notsomuch.

good thing it was just a 2 game series .. get outta town before it gets into the Giants' heads

IIRC he got a 4th option year through some arcane rule. And he hasn't been in the Org long enough for minor league free agency.
