Game Thread: GDT 9/27 San Diego @ SF Giants Battle for third place

Three games left and if the Giants sweep they finish in 3rd place in the West. 2/3 gets them a tie for third place.

Orange Friday for Vogelsong who could use a good outing in his last start this year . Still not known if the Giants pick up his option for next year. Ok with that said let's sweep and get 3rd place.

I could care less about 3rd place. That is just second to last in the race for the worst.

I would prefer that the Pads sweep us and we get a better draft position.

It would have cost us Crick or Blackburn. We are playing well, but still not like a 90+ win team.

I think they give the Willie Mac award tonight...I think it will be Lincecum. Other possibilities include Pagan, Scutaro, and yes Barry Zito

I think it is pretty hands down Pence. He has been the heart and soul of the team since his speech in Cincy.

Pence is a good choice too. I always thought it was about leadership but also overcoming some 'adversity', or showing grit. Like when Vogelsong won, he's not the 'heart and soul' of the team nor was he then, but it was about what a bulldog he was working his way into Allstar form from being a journeyman. That's why maybe Timmy, who finally learned how to pitch late this year.
