Maybe holding runners on isn't such a bad idea after all.

Those guys are fast, probably steal anyway, and we don't throw it into CF.

With a 1 run lead they will hold them on.

I guess what really set us apart in 2010 was hands down the best pen in the game. Now, not so much. They're good but not great.

I remember all the years we didn't have a good pen - before the steroid era - and a shitty pen (and staff in general) always used to kill us.

Sabean has done a very good job of keeping the pen together - its basically the same as 2010 - only RamRam is gone, but I think trading for Pagan was worth it. And he's done a great job of picking up guys to fill in (Kontos, Hensley and now Mijraes). If Weezy hadn't gone down this BP would still be the best in the league. Some guys are out of place now, but its still it's pretty damn good.

One of the reasons I think we did so well in the postseason in 2010 was we had a whole year of 'Torture'. We ate pressure for breakfast. The playoffs were just a few more regular season games.

Some teams coast into the playoffs and then can't get in serious gameface mode as well.

Since this division is likely coming down to the last series of the year in LA, and the West ain't likely getting a wildcard team in, we should be battle ready if we do make it.

Yeah I totally agree it's less sure, but that's what happens when you lose an Allstar closer.
