This team has been bad since June. Sabean wasn't going to give up top specs in an already weak farm system if the team wasn't playing well enough to earn help. Sabean recognized this team wasn't good enough to "go for it", so he saved his assets and stood pat.
They didn't "go for it" because we don't have the pieces to do that. There is no reason to give up future pieces for this delusional "today is for champions" idea of yours.
This team wasn't good enough. Pagan missed too much time, we have a hole at 2B, SS (Crawford doesn't bring it consistently enough), LF and the back end of the rotation has questions. One move wasn't going to fix that
We have had this discussion with him in the past. SYM only has one speed, and that is full-throttle. That strategy does not work in anything, not even video game baseball.
