Maybe it does reveal something, namely that we have a very good pen (so we don't give up leads) and a fairly weak offense (not many comebacks)

Kind of suitable metric when you look at it...

Another option (which I do not expect, BTW) would be to DFA Gutierrez and call up Cordier, Strickland or Hembree along with adding Susac to the 40.

Not sure if coincidence is causality, but for this season, it seems a slam dunk. There are other factors involved, of course, but your take on the "why" makes some sense. Pitching with a lead is always easier, and less pressure. Hitting while behind is more pressure, and on a poor hitting team that seems to slump together, that's just deadly.

Great payback for the Dodgers sweeping in SF. I thought the Giants owned us but the tide might be turning. Belt, Pagan out really hurts. Then Dodgers had 1,2,3 Pitchers going. I think the Dodgers are 6 games to 7 now head to head. This is going to be real interesting down the stretch when Pagan and Belt come back.
