Much was made after the NHL all-star break as Joe Thornton was shooting the puck more than usual. Not any more.

“The last two games I’ve had two shots and I don’t know how many points I’ve had,” Thornton said. “People say I shoot more, but then you look at the reality and I’ve got two shots the last two games.”

Does it help the cause for him to shoot more?

“I’m not sure,” he said. “You want to shoot because you know Pav is going to go to the net and so is Patty. I’d like to shoot more, but I’m a passer. What can I say?”

I also noticed he was shooting more. The shots didn't always make it to the net, but Jumbo attempting to shoot more is a good thing. I hate that last quote (bolded). Don't typecast yourself, jeez. Just do what the situation calls for.
