anyone else think we should go no-huddle far more often in this game? the ravens have a BIG front seven. we have a young, athletic o-line. seems like a good strategy. it also often, not always, forces soft coverage and easy reads for the QB. seems when we play a slow, deliberate, style of offense, the ravens [and the cowboys, giants] are always in the backfield.

Yeah, I'd be fine with some of that. Run them ragged a little bit. Might be especially effective with Lewis on the sideline.

not a bad throw. He had 1 on 1 coverage and put trust in Edwards to make a play in the endzone. Edwards just failed big time to get in a position to play the ball. I mean come on I just watched Rodgers throw passes up all game long to receivers in 1 on 1 but his guys always went after the ball and made plays.

Edwards should have cut underneath the DB and used his size to go up for the ball. He ran himself out of the play and got boxed out by a smaller man. That crap can not happen.

Yeah...but the DB had inside position nearly the whole way from what I saw...Braylon was expecting that pass to the outside or backshoulder from I could tell.

Actually, what is great about this discussion is that we are talking about the WRs and not Smith (except for me...:flock:)...bit of a hypocrit I suppose...

Yes, I think that is a good idea. Sometimes Smith does quite well when he is just winging it.

Watching this game, it occurs to me that the Ravens and 49ers are very similar teams that would like to play the game the same way. Might have something to do with who is coaching these teams.

you mean like maybe they know each other a little? Maybe sat next to each other on a plane or something?

Since the first drive, the D has settled down and is playing really well. I'd like to see a bit more pressure on Flacco, but we're in pretty good shape if we can keep it up.

I think the biggest weakness on this defense is the lack of a pass rush. That will be addressed in the coming years though. This team has a very solid foundation and is only going to get better.

I think the no huddle should be considered. They can't sub. Seemed to be working before the INT.

That's true and the 49ers are showing that even playing terribly they can find a way to hang with the better teams on the road. The two iffy calls that both went against the Niners hurt them.
"hang"? Can you explain how they "hang" with the better teams on the road when they are undefeated on the road? Are you talking about this season?

How many times has Gore fell already? Sheesh. He was doomed even if he hadn't fell though.

It feels like I'm watching a Lions game with Barry Sanders.. with Gore and Hunter having to make people miss in the backfield.
