Really disappointing half, but at the end of the day we're only trailing three after a short week, cross-country trip, and some poor calls by the officials. We get the ball to start the half. Gotta go get some points. We're entirely in this one if we can settle down - especially the OL - and make some plays.

Considering the circumstances, we're still in position to do something here in the 2nd. The OL needs to decide if they want to earn their paychecks today and our O needs to get a bit more support from the running game.

Well the good news is that the Niners have usually come out playing pretty well in the second half this season. Hope it continues.

not a bad throw. He had 1 on 1 coverage and put trust in Edwards to make a play in the endzone. Edwards just failed big time to get in a position to play the ball. I mean come on I just watched Rodgers throw passes up all game long to receivers in 1 on 1 but his guys always went after the ball and made plays.

Edwards should have cut underneath the DB and used his size to go up for the ball. He ran himself out of the play and got boxed out by a smaller man. That crap can not happen.

Braylon was half DB half WR on that ball.

Ball should of been up and away too.

That's true and the 49ers are showing that even playing terribly they can find a way to hang with the better teams on the road. The two iffy calls that both went against the Niners hurt them.

well, we haven't played our best ball on offense. But we have been screwed by the refs and should be winning anyways. defense needs to keep it up, and offense needs to string plays together in the second half.

anyone else think we should go no-huddle far more often in this game? the ravens have a BIG front seven. we have a young, athletic o-line. seems like a good strategy. it also often, not always, forces soft coverage and easy reads for the QB. seems when we play a slow, deliberate, style of offense, the ravens [and the cowboys, giants] are always in the backfield.

This is looking a lot like the Lions game all over. A game unofficially we are probably winning 10-3 and yet thanks to some dubious calls we are losing. I just hope we can fight through it like we did in that game.

Poor play calling doomed him on this drive. Giving up that FG attempt with the ridiculous lob into the end zone was inexcusable. Roman should kick himself in the ass for calling that one I don't understand why teams go away from what is working.

Yes...but Smith was the guy who made the decision to throw to a player that was blanketed...bad throw there and a poor decision to not run for the first down on 3rd and short.

Agreed. That was not a good decision. And from the sound bite I just heard I believe Terrell Suggs agrees with us.

Then he's got to put more air under the ball and give Edwards a chance to go up for it. Edwards didn't do a great job of fighting for the ball, but that's not a good ball by Alex.

On that note, I'm really getting sick and tired of the 49ers having to deal with that during away games... while not getting the same "home field advantage" at Candlestick.

Since the first drive, the D has settled down and is playing really well. I'd like to see a bit more pressure on Flacco, but we're in pretty good shape if we can keep it up.

From Maiocco on twitter:

Playing time for the 49ers' four WRs: Michael Crabtree 19 plays, Ted Ginn 17, Braylon Edwards 15, Kyle Williams 5.

This teams strength is the same as ours,Defense. The offense needs to step it up
