Baas helping out the Giants' OL prepping for Niners:
Scout.com: Baas giving away 49ers' secrets?
Kind of ties into a discussion we were having earlier in the book about the playbook. Must say, I kind of loved this one:
''I never missed games,'' he said. ''I was always able to bounce back, so this is frustrating."
What now? Never missed games? This from the guy who had 22 starts in his first four years, largely because he repeatedly missed preseason with injuries? Sure thing, David.
This is going to be a pretty close game if Manning is given time to hook up with his wideouts, esp. if Nicks is going to play. I don't know if we have enough DB's to keep with Nicks, Cruz, and Manningham and esp. since NYG also factors their TE's into the gameplan quite a bit.
NYG always gives us problems at the Stick, and had it not been for the plahyoff heroics by Jeff Garcia and company, the Niners would have a 4 game losing streak to these guys.
Whatever the Giants do, whether it's playing with 3 safeties or loading 8 in the box, they're defense is going to dare Alex Smith to make plays against them. I've been reading things about how Harbs has some surprises for their defense. Honestly, this is a game where I'd use Hunter and Ginn on counters and even end arounds considering the Giants I don't think have that speed on defense to cover some of our faster players.
Even if gore starts i can see hunter having a big game. With there porous run D and hunters speed he could break off some big runs.
I actually predicted Hunter to score a TD in this game, although off of a screen. Like some of you guys mentioned, WHO ARE the LB's for the Giants?
