Yes. It's somewhat irrational i know. Something about lefty closers.....


Casilla certainly has the stuff. Now that I think about it, they are pretty similar pitchers. Big sinking fastballs, knee-buckling curve and higher than you would like walk totals, though nothing too crazy.

Still think it will be between Romo and Affeldt

Haven't seen Romo's new sinker, but if he just had last year's stuff I'd be against it, i.e. when the slider was on he was unhittable, but when not he was a HR machine.

I agree with you, even with a sinker I'd still rather see a guy with a trusty fastball in the end.

I have full confidence that Bochy will make the right decision. Dude knows a thing or two about bullpens.

The morning guys were asking Kuip about who would be closing. Kuip said something like, "Don't expect the guy who starts the 9th to necessarily be the guy who earns the save." In other words, Casilla starts the 9th and faces Kemp, with Affeldt called in to get Ethier out. Seems to make sense.
