And, yep, Murray's numbers truly indicative of how horrible he continues to be:
I dont want to hear anything negative bout this teams D, because that and (barfs) Niemi have been picture fuckin perfect this season... Theyve gotta be the top or right up in there in goals allowed.. If the O had any, and I mean ANNNNNYYYYY ability to score, SJ SHOULD be up there breaking records with Chicago.... When a team consistanty gives up only 0,1 & 2 goals (I think theyve given up 3 or more, MAYBE 3 times??) then that is as perfect as you can get and no one should be bitchng about it, cause the D hasnt cost them a single game this season, no matter how much I bag on Burns or people bag on Murray (well maybe the Clbs game).
Its funny , that Murray being 1 of maybe 3 players on the team that actaully givens a damn & tried is the one everyone is baggin on... He's a stay at home, non puck moving Dman, of corse theres gonna be more shots when hes on the ice... He's a -4, and dont quote me on it, but Im sure majority of his minutes are logged when the craptsic bottom 6 is on the ice... In comparison, Burns in a -5 in only 6 games... Boyle -4
But like I said, defencemen should be the last thing anyone is complaining about in posts..

went to the game last night and it was quite interesting.
1. after his initial turnover which led directly to col's first goal, sheppard was a beast. Used his size really well to shield off dman behind the net. Bodes well for sure.
2. The sharks got 40+ shots, which is awesome, but I think they set the record for most consecutive passes without a shot, particulary on the PP. yes, varlamov made some awesome stops, but how many of the sharks shots were rebounds? How many had effective screens? They are looking for the pretty tap in goal, and it's just not coming. The big names, as always, have got to get dirtier. Get the shot through to the net and crash. Keeping it simple will make a big difference to get the PP on the board.
3. yargh on turovers. Both goals against they had clear possession and overpassed in the D zone. They might as well have scored on themselves. The cuteness disease seems to infect at both ends.
4. Overall, a solid game, but the big problems havent changed. yes, they got a goal from the bottom 6, but they were still a -1 overall. They got 13 shots on the PP, but still cant score. Still just 2 goals or less (now 8 straight games with 2 or less and 12 out of the last 13). And it helps to play the the 14th place team. Lots of work left...

This win was a nice effort but nothing I'm going to get too excited about. The Avs were missing their best forward (Duchense) and their best dman (Johnson) as well as not having their best defensive forward (O'Rielly). They iced three legitmate NHL calibre forwards in Landskog, Stastny, and Parenteau, and one NHL dman in Hejda and it still took a shootout to win.
LMAO, thats TERRIBLE
Indeed, but it is what it is. I hate to be a Debbie Downer about the win but until they put forth consistant competitive efforts against the better teams I'm not going to be overly optimistic that things are changing for the better.
