I think that defeats the point for scenario 2. Mota starting would be an obvious ploy, so the other team would still study Timmeh. As for point 3, maybe, but too public a display for Boch. That sort of thing may work in College, but not MLB

Watching the 49ers in one window, I know now one here cares, but when NFL kickers are kicking them to the back of the endzone, why, why, why are returners trying to bring the ball out? They never seem to reach the 20. Wouldn't it be better just to do the touchback?

I have often wondered that. I think the answer is that they will always get at least to the 15, so a 5-yard price for a chance at a BIG gain is worth it.

Ginn is trigger happy from last year's opening day performance - I was at that game. But you're right, it's a pretty lame move. Other than that, the Niners running game is looking solid.
