Not for the full year but at this stage of the year his numbers seem to be similar. I might be off by quite a bit.
Here have a look, being a fan in the internet age is wild compared to when I started paying attention to baseball

His OPS+ this year is 112 by the way with great D. They aren't trading him nor should they

He blows 20% of his opportunities. That ain’t good.
Only 17% lol

19 for 23 now

If he got one more save he'd be at 87%. Obviously not a great year but nothing I've seen makes me want to move off him.

I want him traded because we can get real talent back for him and get his salary off the books. In addition, it opens up 3b.
Opening 3rd is fine…

Assuming you have a 3B who is getting blocked. The only 3B in the system who are even arguably “MLB ready” are Schmitt and VR. And don’t want to kick a 6 WAR player in favor of those guys.

That said, if we get a PACKAGE for him, I am fine with him getting dealt.

Looking at all closers with at least 18 saves:

Average save pct: 89%
Number of closers in sample: 17
Doval: 83%
Rank (of 17): 15

He's been mediocre.
That’s generous.

I don't give a crap about their MONEY, but I care about the budget. Clear his salary.

Doesn't matter, they won't trade him. They won't trade Snell. They can't trade Soler.

Offseason is phuked.
So they can sign another FA? FAs rarely pan out. Build from within, and while doing that, put a fun product on the field. Chappy is fun baseball.

I think Schmitt would be a better fit than Villar as Schmitt supposedly has the glove and the bat. Of course, both need to translate at the big league level.

And, I think that is the point of wanting to trade Chapman, to get a package back.

Have to be a crazy good haul for me to be pleased with trading him. Could happen I guess.

The Angels-Phillies trade saw the Phillies ship their #5 & #7 prospects to the Angels for a less than a half season of a closer who melted down badly in the 2nd half last year. Its a seller's market.

Funny, that's just about the most dominant start I think I've ever seen. And I was at Cain's perfect game.
I still say Timmeh’s ‘10 NLDS Game 1 was the greatest game I have ever seen pitched.

And while this game was not a complete game, it can be argued Snell was mire dialed in that Timmeh was that day. Though, of course, Timmeh’s was a more critical game than this was.

Let's see it then, what would be a great haul for him in your opinion that's realistic? Like I said, I want to keep him so has to be a lot for me to be happy with a trade.

Just spitballing here but maybe the Giants could score two top 10 prospects from another org and maybe just outside the top 20 if they agreed to pay the rest of this year's salary? Of course, I haven't researched how deep the Phillies' farm is so I don't know what their #5 & #7 would stack against other buyers.

There have always been questions about Schmitt’s bat, going back to college. His glove has always been his calling card.

Does Philly need a 3B badly?
