The game was crazy. And yes he did. What happened the linesman broke up the fight but no one escorted him to the tunnel. So he went towards Johnson and they dropped the gloves. So Godard jumped the bench and went after him.

You must give it to the Isle's for coming out intense and sticking it to the Pens but it got out of hand and looked very early 80'ish or bush league.

When you check the highlights there were a few acts out there, like Martin trying to jump Talbot, Gilles 5 minute elbow and taunting Tangradi (while down) from the runway and the play above.

By the end of the game the Penguins had 6 players and 2 goalies. The Islanders had I think 9 and the goalies.

Blame the refs not the players/teams. Even Errey said in the first period, "The refs put the whistles away already'. Which was surprising because of the previous game. The league/refs needed to be prepared for a game like this but they were not... they dropped the ball big time.

Another nasty part: Dan Bylsma is fined 10k for the Godard incident, is suspended pending league review, and the team is subject to a fine. I'd love to hear what the Isles coach was saying or thinking, because the Godard thing was the most innocent of the events that occurred tonight.

I agree no one should be upset with Godards suspension he needed to do that.

I am real curious to see what Gilles, Martin and Haley get. The reason I wonder is that Godards is the one true suspendable offense for leaving the bench and the others will be the NHL's judgement.

Nearly dropped the twitter gloves with Buccigross after the game. He said 4-7 for Gillies because it's exactly what the league is cracking down on (can the league tack on a few for being a horrible sportsman and mocking a player that YOU injured?), but said that he thought Martin may get off with none. WHAT GAME WAS HE WATCHING (and I use the term 'game' loosely here)?!? That was a few inches away from Bertuzzi. The Burt shot was worse because he was more behind him and landed with his full force on his head when it made contact with the ice, but the intent with this one was eerily similar.

Stop whining. Your team got it's butt kicked tonight. Deal with it. Colin Campbell has a history of suspending Islanders players heavily. Heck earlier this year Wisniewski got two games for a gesture.

This game brought back memories of Cherry's Bruins & Shero's Flyers. It was GREAT!!
