I liked that it was a little kid that killed Ygritte. Actress Natalie Tena, who plays Osha, stated in an interview prior to season four that the TV series will increasingly make changes from the books.

Making changes from the books is a good thing, IMO. Some measure of creative license and artistic freedom must be given to the makers of the show. Their hands should not be restrained based on the exact occurrences in the books.

After all, if the TV program was identical to the books, then why bother even making a TV series?...it would be pointless, artistically. Example...if I see/hear a musical artist performing a famous song from the past, I want to see the artist create their own interpretation of the song, not something identical to the original.

Creative license must not be stifled!

Speaking of actress Natalie Tena (Osha)........Osha & Rickon Stark have still not made an appearance in the show ever since they split-off from Bran's party after spending the night at the tower way back in the red wedding episode of season three.

I'm assuming Osha and Rickon Stark will appear in the season four finale.

Just because I didn't like one change doesn't mean I hate them all. Up until this season the vast majority of them were necessary to avoid over complicating things. This season however a lot of them have been unnecessary and haven't done much but burn time, which is kind of worrying since the finale is probably going to have to rush a bunch of stuff to fit everything in.

Going back to the kid, I forgot that the Thenn only kills his mom and Ygritee actually kills his dad. Still a prime example of an unnecessary change IMO.

I have not read the books, but I thought that Ygritte facing him down and then not pulling the trigger only to have her killed in front of him was good high drama.

My only complaint is that we didn't get to see her naked one last time!

I don't mind the changes from the books at all. They are keeping the narrative of the overall storyline pretty much on point so I have no issues.

It was sad to see Pyp and Grenn go tho. They are still alive in the books. :bawling: Jon basically has no friends now.

I know I haven't watched one second of it. But from what I have seen in pictures on google, it's Harry Potter. The T.V. show.

6.9 million viewers last night for the initial episode. That's a slight dip from the 7.2 million the week before. I bet we see a sharp jump for the finale. Still think 8 million isn't impossible

After next weeks season finale, fans will be sad, and their heads will be pounding because they will realize they will not experience any more GoT goodness until next April.

Tonight's season four finale is entitled The Children.

So, I'm assuming tonight will feature storylines about Tyrion, Arya, Jon Snow, Bran, and perhaps Stannis's deformed daughter (I can't recall her name)-----Remember a few episodes ago the Red Witch insisted on bringing Stannis's daughter along for the trip to the Wall. I think the witch bitch is going to try to sacrifice the girl prior to Stannis's military forces engage in battle at the Wall. But I have a feeling Stannis's advisor Davos the ex-smuggler will save the girl.....after all, Davos is very close to the girl (she is teaching Davos how to read). Will Davos rescue the girl from sacrifice and kill the Red Witch tonight? We shall see.

Loved The Hound vs. Brienne which was not in the books!

I never read the books. The fight between Brienne and The Hound was awesome! Brienne is hardcore badass-----biting off The Hounds ear, and then repeatedly smashing him in the head with the rock...dayum!

The actress portraying Brienne, Gwendoline Christie, is probably going to portray a badass character in the upcoming Star Wars VII film.

Yes. He received a raven from Castle Black asking him for help a while ago. Melisandre convinced him that his real enemy lies to the north. They pit stopped in Bravos to pick up troops and left to help out at The Wall.

Were the ravens sent out the night of the invasion on The Wall?
