I don't think I got what Bran meant when Jon said "look at you, you're a man" and Bran goes "not yet"

the fuck is wrong with that weirdo
I think he said "not quite" didn't he? Just implying that he's now more three-eyed raven than man. I might have misread that interchange though and Bran was really just talking about the fact that his pubes have not fully come in yet.

I heard "not quite" too, but assumed it was because he can't walk.

They say a lot of things, and they don't always make sense.

Last season in an after show thing they called Benjen "Coldhands" even though he's never been referred to as Coldhands in the show and Coldhands in the books has been confirmed to not be Benjen.

I'd be surprised if we don't learn Coldhands is, in fact, Benjen, despite what GRRM said, if we ever get the rest of the books.

As far as Valyrian steel and Dragonglass in the show versus the books, while it's quite possible I'm forgetting something, I don't recall there being any occasion in the books to use either, yet. If my recollection is correct, that would mean we don't know what either do in the books ... what they do or don't kill.

It could end up being that Benjen is Coldhands but I'm just going off what George has said as of now.

Sam kills a White Walker with dragonglass in the books like he does in the show. We don't know what Valyrian steel does in the books though, it's just the consensus that it would work. I feel like the show confirming it means it's probably true in the books as well.

Thanks. I didn't remember Sam killing the WW in the books, too. It's been a while since I read them.

I just can't imagine who would be pretending to be Arya and how it would really do anything for the story...

OH, so it isn't Arya, the Waif lived!!!! Annnnnnnd, so what?

It wouldn't make sense for it to be anyone but Arya for quite a few reasons. But the way she talks and her mannerisms in Season 7 and so far in Season 8 are much different than they were for the first 6 seasons. It's like they're trying too hard to show us that she's changed into a bad-ass assassin from the little girl that she was when the show started. Only she had been a killer for some time and her personality hadn't changed much. It's not like the transformation occurred while she was at The House of Black and White either. It wasn't until after she left that she seems different.

the episode last night ended at 10 and that was with me pausing and rewinding some. It was not a longer episode.

I even had a heavier pour of scotch and my glass was still half full when the episode was done.

So Bran is just staring down Jaime all because Jaime pushed him out a window years ago? Get over it, Bran. Go be a tree.
Bran stares at everybody. He's a weirdo now because he knows everything.

And this session is 7 hours long. No, it's not as much as some expected, but it's not 7.8 to 8 episodes worth as someone suggested. It is equal to 7 episodes.
432 minutes this season. Average run time of episodes coming into this season was 55 minutes. 432/55=7.85

She stated such last season and told Tyrion. Which he alluded to while speaking to Sansa at Winterfell during last night's episode.

As for the "bro you're a Targaryan" conversation...I was hoping it was a bit more dramatic. Can you imagine Dany's face had the fact been revealed in her presence? I was hoping Bran would blurt it out during his "we've no time for this" speech.
I loved that line. I thought it was kind of like he was speaking to the show runners.

At the big meeting last season, they explain that only dragonglass or Valyrian steel can kill a wight/WW.

What were Tormund/Jorah/Hound using to fend them off? Sure, the big hammer can break them apart, but Jorah was using two rather small stiletto daggers. Was he ‘killing’ wights or just slowing them down?

Will the Unsullied and Dothraki need dragon glass? Or make do with steel?

Gendry made one axe for The Hound. Do they plan on covering every spear tip and/or scimitar with it????
Well they were bringing it in by the trailer load so I think they are planning to put it on as much as possible. And I believe everyone was armed with it in the trek beyond the wall.
