THRILLHO
I'd say year and a half (about 19 months)...not 2 yearsLess than a week to go.
Hard to believe it's been close to 2 years since the last one.

idk why that fucking dragon dying saddened me more than any of the actual people in the show dying did.
Ugh. I'm almost through season 2.I got 4 eps left on my rewatch.
So pumped for Sunday
I know exactly what you mean.
I just rewatched that episode for the first time last night, and that moment got me in the gut, again.
I still have to finish the final episode of season 7 before Sunday, but I have plenty of time.
As far as my rewatch, I hadn't seen season 6 or 7 since they aired.
Imo, season 6 was even better than I remembered.
I still have the same complaints about season 7, though. It all went too quickly. I get why, a lot of things had to happen, but still.
I think it comes down to the per episode salaries of the big five.they needed a full season
idk who decided the last two seasons should be cut short and there should be 2 fucking years between them but they needed their ass beat

I guess I don't know for certain but I remember a big deal being made about how much they each got an episode. I think the longest one was right around 90 minutes.Maybe so
I wonder if they get paid the same for a 2 hour episode as they do a 1 hour one? I don't guess I've ever thought about that.

If I remember correctly, one of the reasons the 7th season was shorter was because the CGI involved was so extensive, to get the season out in "regular time," they couldn't do a full season. I think that's also one of the reasons it's taken the final season so long to be released. So much of it involves CGI at this point, it took forever to do it all.
It's not just the CGI. The battle of the bastards was the biggest cinematic battle ever put on the screen. The expense, at least in terms of usual TV budgets is atrofuckingnomical. Apparently this last season is even bigger in scope.
It's just simple math.
They also needed winter. And there was not enough winter time to get everything shot in one season.

that was season 7 though wasn't it? or was that the case for 8 too?
Winter shooting and post-production CGI caused Season 7 to be delayed months and Season 8 to be delayed a year.
