I'm doing a rewatch of the whole series leading up to season 8.
I' on the final episode of season 4.
I just realized I'm going to have to pick up my pace if I'm gonna finish all the episode before the new season starts.

I haven't participated in this thread during previous seasons, so I have a couple of questions:

1. Is everyone expected to put any spoilers for upcoming episodes behind the "spoiler" thingy? No, I don't post spoilers, but I'm just wondering the likelihood of someone else doing so.

2. Once an episode has its initial airing, given they're aired simultaneously across the world, can we discuss what's just aired without having to use the spoiler thingy, or does a certain amount of time have to pass, or what?

Basically, if you have CONFIRMED info, or even strong rumors about upcoming episodes, it should be placed in a spoiler tag. If you are not certain if what you are posting is a spoiler or wild speculation, play it safe and put it in a spoiler tag.

Conversely, once an episode airs, feel free to discuss it without worrying about spoilers. If someone hasn’t seen an already aired episode, they should avoid this thread.

To put it another way, assume your reader is caught up on everything aired, but does not know anything about the future.

I'm always one to err on the side of caution when it comes to spoilers.
I'm a book reader, and I used to get pissed when other book readers would spoil things for show only folks, so I'm very careful about spoilers, and at this point try to avoid them like the plague.

Erring on the side of using the tag is a good starting point. But even over-use of the spoiler tag can hurt the thread as well...

At this point, unless something comes up in an episode that I'd know something about from reading the books (and as far past the books as the show is, that isn't overly likely), I doubt I'd have any reason to use a spoiler tag.

As @calsnowskier mentioned, once an episode airs, it's fair game to discuss. The show is already passed the books, so there shouldn't be any reveals. While there may be theories and speculation for upcoming episodes, those aren't spoilers.

Leaks may need spoiled tags, but original thoughts shouldn't.

I've gotten to season 6 on my rewatch.
Wow.
I'd forgotten how great I thought that season was.
I'm sort of dreading getting to "The Door."
I haven't seen it, or any of season 6, since it originally aired, and I remember feeling a bit sheepish about the way "The Door" fucked me up, lol.
