I have heard the final scene has already been filmed...

an old man (played by Peter Falk) closes the final book of the ASOIAF series and his grandson (played by Fred Savage) complains that there was too much dick in the story and that it was ghey. He asks his grandfather to read him the "other" book tomorrow.

All jokes aside, I actually think this is somewhat close to what the real final scene of the TV show will be. I think the final scene will be an old maester writing down the conclusion of who sits on the Iron Throne. A voice off screen says "Sam, it's late. Come to bed" to which he replies "In a bit. Just finishing up these pages". He then finishes writing, closes the book, and the camera focus on the cover that reads "A Game Of Thrones". End of series.

Sam has long thought to be the stand in for GRRM. They even hinted this could be the outcome earlier this season when the Archmaester was giving history books to Sam and Sam mentioned they could have more poetic titles. And then the "pages" quote can be a silly real world reference to GRRM always claiming to have pages ready for the next book installment.

I have a feeling that the tv series will have an open end, and may finish on the big screen. That gives grrm the big money in the end.

Dorne is a political mess because they no longer have any leadership...everybody of importance is dead... so at this point, Dorne is effectively out of the conflict. Imagine the US government with all three branches destroyed/dead (all Whitehouse staff and cabinet members dead... plus all congress members and staffs dead...plus all federal judges dead)... with the only thing remaining being the military and intelligence agencies....it would be chaos...the agencies and military would somehow have to find a way to reform the US government.

Unless some charismatic general can quickly unite Dorne, they are out of the game for quite a long time.

Well, but they aren't dead. Hard to imagine Ellaria usurped power all by her lonesome. The previous ruler was basically a pacifist it seemed, Oberyn hated the Lannisters and Ellaria hates the Lannisters. So does the next in command hate tbe Lannisters? Are they loyal to Ellaria? Do they know she is alive?

Who knows, but I guess the advantage of doi g such a shoddy job with the Dorne arc is that they can essentially make up whatever they want with it at this point. Could be they are out of the game. Could be that they're all in. And they can even have them flip to supporting Cersei, I suppose...

Kind of a wildcard that they may or may not choose to play.

Also wondering if Danaerys might get a bit paranoid about a potential spy in her midst. Especially since the Lannisters have pretty much guessed everything they were going to do before they've done it up to now...

She already is wary of Varys...

I was Sitting there trying to debate what I wanted the outcome to be while it was all going on. The only 2 people I like on the Lannister side fighting Danny's crew:shrug:

That might be the shortest episode ever. Started late and ended early.

But pretty much enjoyed every minute of it.

Yeah, dont have much to add... Holy Shit!

I was sporting wood the entire time watching the Dothraki and Dragon tear up the Lannister army. Sadly allowed the gold to make it to KL though... BOOOOOOO!

Thought when the Dothraki guy said to Tyrion, "Your people can't fight", that Tyrion might come back with, "Well, a big fuckin dragon setting half the army on fire kinda makes it a bit unfair."... but whatever.

Anyone think Tyrion may be having second thoughts? Or was he just worried for Jaimie?

Who saved Jaime?
-Bronn?
-Tyrion?
-Randyll Tarly?
-Dickon Tarly?

It has to be one of the above 4...correct?
