BTW, her hair failing to grow back kinda doesn't match up with my "lots of time is passing" argument. So I choose to think that she's keeping her hair cropped on purpose in order to look more butch so as to be taken seriously as the first ruling queen. Do they treat these people for free? Or only those that can pay?
Do maesters pay dues? Are they unionized?
Who determines if the maester gets another ring of metal?
Do they get together once a year at the citadel to share information? Maester-con?
