I want to love this show, but this season I'm not really digging everything about it. It will be just 8 episodes, there shouldn't be that much filler. It still has many great moments, but some of the storylines are just dragging.

1. Sidelining Daemon, one of the most interesting characters. The Harrenhal haunting / hallucinations was interesting for a while, but not for a full season arc.
2. Rhaenyra and The Blacks aren't doing anything compelling so far. All the interesting bits are happening on the Greens' side.

I'm sure next episode, being the second to last, will have something big happening.

Corlys never had one. Velaryons are, in general, not dragon riders. That's why it is such a surprise that Corlys's bastard can ride one.
