That's nine straight over Detroit in Philly and we win the first time this year on home ice. The Champs come into town on Tuesday for another tough game. Good game and on we go.

nice win, espescially with the way Detroit dominated. 0 shots in 10 minutes of play in both the 1st and 2nd period?

Emery had a hell of a game.

Emery was fantastic he looks better than last year moving well. Good signing after all!

Not sure what they were doing for the first part of the game but that has to stop. Read is god awful he seems half speed only moving when he wants to...is he hurt?

MDZ played a nice game Grossmann probably one of his best as a Flyer too.

They give dats 2nd star he was a -2 poor Raffl only gets 2 goals assist +2 and no star...who picks this shit???

This game was frustrating to watch for awhile because it seemed like we were doing absolutely nothing offensively. At the end of the day though, we got some very timely offense and you have to give major props to the defense and goaltending for bending, but not breaking. Yes, we gave up a lot of shots and zone time, but not a lot of high quality opportunities. This happened all while it seemed like we were skating in sand.

For once I come away feeling like we won a game with defense and on the heels of learning the news of Coburn/MacDonald, that is impressive.

I hope the goal by Schenn gets him going, because he continues to look completely useless to me. The only reason he's even on the top power play unit is an attempt at jumpstarting his game. Let's hope it works. Realistically, while out there with Giroux, Voracek, Simmonds and Streit on a power play, a stuffed animal on skates could probably net a couple goals.

Also, I thought Gostisbehere showed flashes of brilliance and only made one or two minor mistakes that he quickly recovered from. Solid first game from him. The future looks extremely bright.
