one thing that comes out of this is hopefully teams stop categorizing/grading concussions in the media the day after a head shot incident

Pens said Crosby had a mild concussion the days after he got popped in TBay
Habs said Pacioretty had a serious concussion in the days after Chara did him

just call it a concussion and stop trying to diagnose something so difficult to diagnose

I had a discussion with one of my profs (who's a certified AT) about this. Grading is ridiculously outdated and only used by doctors who are too old school to move on. I honestly think it's used to 'bring comfort' to the fans. It's stupid and unrelated to the injury. A concussion is a concussion, how in the world can a doctor justify grading it when we don't even know 50% of what there is to know about them. Hopefully with time it'll be done. The whole loss of consciousness is brought up, but it's still irrelevant to how long a guy may be out.
