In addition to listing QB Jimmy Garoppolo as doubtful, the Patriots have six questionable players: TE Rob Gronkowski (hamstring), LB Dont'a Hightower (knee), LB Jonathan Freeny (shoulder), DE Trey Flowers (shoulder), G Jonathan Cooper (foot), CB Eric Rowe (ankle).

Will be tough. If this was in in Houston I would say no chance. In Foxborough there is a chance for sure.

Houston absolutely has to get off to a fast start if they hope to beat the Patriots. They have to force the Pats to do something that we know they don't want to do........get into a shootout. No one knows whether or not JB can come back from behind. We don't know with 100% certainty that he can start an NFL game and maintain control of his own offense.

If JB doesn't get rattled and doesn't make any unforced errors, The Patriots will win. If Watt, Clowney and Springer can get pressure on him, that could make a big difference.

Truth is, the Texans will come as hard and fast as they possibly can. That will be their downfall. Short little dinky-do passes will turn into 15-18 yard gains and the Texans will push harder and lose the game. My guess is that JB will be 24 or 26 for 32 and near 300 yards. No pass will be thrown in the air over 12 yards.

That's pretty lofty expectations for a rookie. We are talking 75% completion percentage and close to 10 yards per attempt. Those are like top-3 QB type numbers if not top QB in the league type numbers. You also don't usually get that type of production at least yards if you are throwing everything under 12 yards. That usually leads closer to a 6-7 yard per attempt type average unless a screen pass turns into a 50 yard type play.

To me I see the Pats running the football and running it some more. Leaning on the defense to go win this one for them and not really putting the ball in the QB's hands a whole lot. I see him having 25 or less attempts in this one unless they fall behind early. Shorten the game with the run game and see if maybe a play or two can decide the game. Plus running the football gets the ball out of the rookie's hands as to not risk injury considering you don't have a true back up QB that can go in and play.

The Patriots have one true quarterback active for this game and have called designed runs for him on two of their first 13 plays. That's either incredible confidence or, well, yeah. We'll call it confidence.

Brissett can do one thing Brady cannot do. Run like a fullback 27 yards breaking tackles for a TD.

McDaniels needs to tell him it's a team game and not to try to do everything himself. Ain't college.

10-0, I can live with it. Defense has to put a bit more pressure on OZ and force him to get rid of the ball quicker.

Great INT by Collins.

20-0 Pats have eaten up all of the 9 minutes of play in the 3rd quarter.

Texans are getting frustrated and they're making bad mistakes. 2 interference calls in the end zone on one drive is stupid football.

27-0 Pats with 11:00 minutes to go in the game.

As I said earlier, Lamar Miller got slammed a bit and of course has a boo-boo and can't play. I don't make this shit up.

Texans are playing like spoiled brats and the immaturity has cost them dearly.....stupid, stupid penalties.

27-0....time for bed. I have to get up at 5:30.

This has been a great night for football.

Grandson throws 3 TD's and runs for a fourth. His teams wins 38-8. Come home just in time for the pats and they win 27-0 after a week of listening to the naysayers. 19-0 Baby....One for the thumb.

Blount was MVP....right after the entire defense....right after special teams....can a coach get MVP...?

GREAT game all around. Brissett has some wheels, Edelman is a Swiss army knife, Bennet is a monster...

Just wow.

When will Goodell try to investigate O'Brien and the Patriots for cheating in this game? Since O'Brien seemed to just give up the game.
