I think they're making too much of the Burkhead thing.

IMO Abdullah is just as much of a weapon now, and will ultimately be a better back than Rex at some point.

I know it's early, but when he was being recruited I saw a complete package there. Bama might have let one get away. I predicted last season that he'd take Burkhead's job outright this year. It had nothing to do with injury.

Burkhead has more game experience, but in Beck's offense he only has a one spring practice lead in knowledge.

This game comes down to Martinez executing the playbook, and the defense (particularly the front 7) getting UCLA off the field on 3rd down.

I'll agree, however NU took a step back on special teams to where it could have been costly to a better team than USM.

I'm also concerned about NU's offensive snapping. There we're a lot of low snaps to Taylor in the shotgun as well.

NU played very disciplined football last week. Let's hope that can be attributed to another year in Beck's system and another year of maturity.

Somehow UCLA morphed into USC with the Mora hire.

Not saying NU's got this in the bag, but it's got nothing to do with Rex being out all week. It has everything to do with NU putting last years team flaws behind them. Execution, , turnovers, tackling, penalties, etc..

I would also like to chime in that these so called handicappers are not one to put their money games out there for free. The gambling gurus have it all figured out and give out their picks (like this) for free as if they hit it, they look like geniuses, if they miss it, it was not one of their money games.

My opinion; we (Nebraska) had best not think we can stroll into this game and the fact that we have an "N" on our helmets will automatically create a win. UCLA has a bunch of talent, maybe as much as we do and this is the game that has scared me the most as the one that could get away.

I know we will prepare hard for Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio State and Michigan State as they are the teams to beat in the Big Ten and we recognize that. Let's hope Bo has our boys level headed and ready to open a can of whoop ass and play 60 minutes of smart disciplined football this weekend.

I pulled out the rose colored glasses and cleaned them off and laid them on my coffee table so they were within my reach should we go 5 and 0 to start. I have not put them on yet but if we can dominate this game, I will be closer to putting them on than I have been in the past 3 years.

They interviewed Lee Sterling on USC just now and he reiterated UCla 31-27 win.

Instead of saying due to Burkhead being out (like he does in his video) he says NU won't be able to contain Hundley because he's a mobile QB.

I'm fairly certain Hundley is a redshirt freshman not a true freshman as that tool stated.... I agree that the blackshirts sucked ass stopping mobile QB for the past few years but I'm hoping Bo has something up his sleeve as good coaches don't keep getting burned by the same style of offense, do they?

A few things I noticed about the Hundley video..

1) He seems so much more relaxed when talking to the media than Taylor. Agreed on him looking like a really nice kid and very respectful.

2) Are the practicing in a public park? I keep looking for some people having a picnic or roller blading.. UNL facilities >>>> UCLA facilities
