Could be a fight before this is over. Sharks need to show composure. Kings are going to goon it up here.

I think pavelski getting dropped to the 3rd line has been a factor it's neutralized the kings only effective line

just got home... Best character win Ive seen maybe ever.

Down 2-0 on a so-so first goal on nemo and then pickles just losing a guy. BUT, the sharks were the better team and had at least 5 prime scoring chances and quick stood on his head. In previous years, the sharks might have been demoralized, but it didnt happen.

Second, the sharks top 6 forwards were absolutely shut down by LA through two. Pavs had one second assist, but that's it. In previous years, the sharks are down 2-0 going into the 3rd, quick would look unbeatable, and the confidence would fade. LA would match up the top D vs jumbo and patty's lines and that would be all she wrote.

BUT, the 3rd and 4th lines step it up. Last year, the bottom sixe forwards scored a total of 2 goals in 11 games (raffi and galiardi each had one). This year, they have 4 in two games. last year, 14 of the 25 total goals were scored by 3 guys (cooch, patty, pavs). This year the scoring is everywhere, D, 3rd line, 4th line, top two lines. Everyone.

Its only 2 games, and I still dont trust nemo, but it feels different to me.

I agree, it does feel different! We've never seen so many productive lines and they are completely shutting the kings down. I barely even noticed the kings in the 2nd, 3rd period that was insane.

But the road to the Cup is long and no one is satisfied unless this team wins the cup. Next comes consistency, something this team has failed to do so many years in a row. Can we keep this great play up and steal games on the road? Game 3 and 4 will really determine what to expect of this team away from home. I really hope we are witnessing the beginning of something magical.

I'm a big Stalock fan and don't trust Nemo either, but his play does get lost in all the scoring. In game 1 he made a few big saves, especially the one on Carter to keep it 0-0 early. Tonight that first goal was two bad plays by Wingles in the turnover in the O-zone and then being out of position to block Muzzin's shot in which Nemo was dealing with traffic. The 2nd goal was tough with the nice deflection by Lewis. After that though he shut them down and while he wasn't spectacular his play was solid. I think as long as he doesn't let in those backbreaking softies we can go far this year.

Yeah - like wow... holy fuck balls! Who the hell was skating in these Sharks uniforms the last couple of games.

I have not been able to see many games this year and this was really the first "in the man cave" where I could just sit and absorb the whole thing. To me, there are two very critical differences between this team and previous years: Team speed and a solid/scoring line 3 and 4. I don't think we have really had a good line 3 since the days of Ricci/Sunstrum/Thornton and only sporadically have we had a real 4th line. THIS 4th line (and they really deserved all the stars of the game) is a fucking menace. Sutter couldn't figure out how to match against it - it will be interesting to see what he does in LA with the last change. The 3rd line looks good as well, and having Pavs on it makes it legit. Previously a team could just stack up against our top 2 lines and that would pretty much be it in a 7 game series... this is not that team.

Still a lot of hockey to play, but after finally seeing a game there is a LOT of contrast between whats on the ice now and what we have seen in the past.

Great win tonight.

Its because Pav's got dropped to the 3rd line and that completely fucked up Sutters line match ups, the Stoll line was the best line for LA primairly because Shep was getting dominated in the faceoff circle.

Now I can elaborate a little more, I think the biggest glaring advantage the sharks have is team speed vs the kings big slow defense. Regher, Greene, and Mitchell are just getting beat everywhere on the ice. Another thing is when have you heard Alec Martinez name mentioned this series?

Sharks are eating the kings alive in transition that's where the majority of the scoring is coming from. And I mentioned it earlier when havlat and Kennedy are in the press box your depth is unmatched in this league.

As for Nemo he did what he was supposed to do make saves that are routine, a lot of pucks hit him and that's just good positioning on his part. He hasn't had to steal a game but he's not losing games do that's huge. No need going to stalock yet

I think this is the key for the entire team. W Pav's as 3rd line C, this is good a top 9 as you are gonna find.
I read something around the Olympic break from a scout raving about Pavs....said how he can play in all situations, and on any line. But he said the Sharks are very dangerous w him as the 3rd line C, because they can then match up w just about anyone.
Loving this so far!!!

I think game 3 is going to be a pivotal game for Nemo and will give us just how good of an idea on how far this team will go in the playoffs. You know this is going to be the hardest game of the series so far and the sharks will need Nemo to keep them in it early
