Last game of the season.

Jets have nothing to play for except being a spoiler to the Patriots clinching home field through the playoffs. If you were a Jet player, would you play all out in a meaningless game and take a chance on a permanent injury just to keep the Patriots from playing 1 game in Foxboro? What if the Steelers lose their first game? Then you got hurt for nothing because the Pats would be playing in Foxboro anyway. You play for your own pride and play as well as you can and don't do anything that might endanger your future. Thank you very much, see you at the OTAs.

Patriots won't be resting anyone. They want two weeks off to see if they can get everyone healed for their next game on January 9 or 10.

If the Pats get up 31-3 or some crazy lead, I think both TB and Gronk will be watching from the sideline.

I think if the game gets to 24 to 3 you may see that. Ideally get an early and big lead then rest key player. But the Jets know this team so I don't think that will happen.
Halftime: Pats 17 Jets 7
End of 3rd: Pats 27 Jets 10
5 Minutes into 4th: Pats 30 Jets 10

Players resting.

Final Score Pats 33 Jets 17

Pats are -15.5 favorites. Man that's a lot of points. But I'm thinking about taking them anyway.

NBCSB Early Edition reported last night that the patriots will activate the following for Sunday's game:

Offense

Malcolm Mitchell
Chris Hogan

Defense

James Harrison
Karl Van Noy

Weather report for New Years Eve is brutal cold. No precipitation. Game time temp is expected to be between 6 and 10 degrees with a 25 MPH wind gusting to 35. Wind Chill is expected to be -20 to -25.

I turned down free tickets on the 35 yard line 12 rows from the field. I'll be in the cave, nice and warm with my Caffeine Free Diet Pepsi, snacks and 15 feet from my newly finished bathroom. That and I don't have to pay $40 to park.

With the ability to pause the game, hit the head, re-load the tonic and return to the game.

Branch, Burkhead and Gillislee are out for sure. Everyone else practiced for three hours Friday in -3 temps.
Patriots will hold a "No Media" outdoor practice today (no contact) today.

What this telling me is that Bill is getting "everyone" who will be active ready to play Sunday. If the Patriots win, they'll be off until next Thursday or Friday and then be back for preparation for Kansas City or Baltimore.

26-6. No Mitchell, No Hogan, No White, No Burknead, No Gillislee.

Didn't need them. Brady was not sharp today. Threw the ball away a lot today.

Defense played well. Harrison was not sopectacular, but better than I expected. Made a great open field tackle on a wide receiver (Kearse?) on third down that snuffed a drive.

Home field through the playoffs.

Just one question....How is it that the Steelers play us close and tough down to 5 seconds to play and almost get beat by the 0-16 Cleveland Browns because a WR on Browns has a Last minute pass go directly through his hands on a 4th and 7 with 1:46 to play. Steelers sneak by 28-24....Gag....gag......

Simple:

1) We were the big game. Pittsburgh's SB
2) No Big Ben
3) Nothing to gain
4) Big letdown after losing fair and square to the Patriots
5) They play down to their competition
6) They really are not that good.....

Cooks didn't seem to be on the same page with Brady. He stopped his route on what would have been one of the easiest TDs of his career and he dropped an easy pass right in his hands. Yes he did get what 79 yards and a TD but it could and probably should have been a lot more. I still love him on this team!
