anybody think this mean we trade a defenseman like coburn?

I think a good defenseman has to be on the move. I would rather keep our guys (pronger, timmo, carle, coburn, mez) and trade anyone else, but I think we are losing at least one of them. Who knows for what. Maybe to sign a ufa goalie or trade for a scoring winger. I thought both were already address but we shall see.

yea i checked the numbers. we just have enough for 14 forwards, 7 defensemen, and 2 goalies. and the 2 extra forwards have to be like 500k. i think coburn is gone.

Is TB going to be relevant again? It seems like they have made some nice moves.

Depends a lot on what happens with the elusive Paul Ranger & the rest of the defense. But Gagne/Stamkos/Lecavalier/Saint Louis is a pretty nasty combo.

Should have thrown Coburn in the Gagne deal. Yzerman may have let you take an additional third rounder for that.

ya.. flyers are now 411k under the cap.. i dont think homer will be content with that during the season.. thats basically 0 wiggle room.. someone else is on the move, and it HAS to be a d-man, unless homer's completely lost his mind

plus thats with cote AND shelley on the roster (gotta have 23 somehow)..

Why is that when Chicago needed to get under the cap, they traded their overpriced garbage to Atlanta for some pretty good picks and prospects, but when the Flyers have to do it, they get what will be their 8th best defenseman and a fucking 4th round pick for a former Selke nominee and 2-time 40 goal scorer? Versteeg, Big Buff are far from garbage. I agree they are not elite players, but still.

Also, chicago did a very good job on securing nice return for their players. A+

Flyers seemed to take offer #1 and run with it. F

They still have a solid 20+ goal scorer in Malone that can compliment any of thos two as well.

I'm also a fan of their goaltending tandem.
