World Series record since 1989...

San Francisco Giants - 3-2
Arizona Diamondbacks - 1-0
San Diego Padres - 0-1
Colorado Rockies - 0-1
Los Angeles Dodgers - 0-0

The Dodgers clearly OWN the division.

At least Buddy is out of the discussion. THAT was the hire that I was fearing.

Bud Black is top-notch.

LOL @ the complete failure of the Padres to trade Buddy for AJ Preller. :L

And when they start giving out a regular season championship trophy, I'm sure your point will start to be valid.

Smart baseball fans know this is true, but we also know that y'all would trades places with us in that regard in a heartbeat...LA having won 3 of last 6 is >> LA owning the division for a few years

His point was valid based on Cal saying that the Dodgers own the division. Derp.

No. No I wouldn't trade your NL West Champs banners for our 3 World Series trophies. Maybe that's that Dodgers' collective problem. The team thinks the same way you do and they don't think the playoffs are important. It would explain a lot. Now if you are making a case for your team being better at hitting other team's 3/4/5 pitchers, then sure, congrats on that. What I know is that when the lights are the brightest and the Dodgers have to go against the other team's 1/2 pitchers, the Dodgers shit the bed.

Watching Bochy manage the last decade or so has taught me one thing about baseball I never realized before...

The regular season is just extended Spring Training.

Bochy uses the regular season to test his players. He puts them in odd situations to both give them experience and to test them so he knows what they are capable of when up matters. Bochy does not manage to win. He manages to learn.

As my sig says, I could ALMOST give a shit about the regular season record. The only thing that matters is getting 11 wins in October. All other numbers are trivial. Bochy bases his entire strategy on this basic fact. Saran bases his entire strategy on this basic fact. Baer bases his entire strategy on this basic fact. Evans bases his entire strategy on this basic fact.

So, again.

In 26 seasons, the team that claims to own the division has yet to even make it to the Fall Classic, let alone win it. Mean while, the rest of the division has been 11 times, INCLUDING two expansion teams and the Padres.

Go home Dre, you are drunk. My bad. I had a few too many glasses of wine with Mrs. Dre last night and apparently that made allegiances a bit fuzzy. :suds:

Yes, Dodgers fans don't consider the playoffs important, that's exactly what we are saying. :L

I don't see what this has to do with the Dodgers winning 3 straight division titles.

Holy shit, Gabe Kapler. I remember when he played for the Tigers some 15, 20 years.

Is this what it feels like to grow old?

Well yea, but that's not the debate.

Holy shit, Gabe Kapler. I remember when he played for the Tigers some 15, 20 years.

Is this what it feels like to grow old?

To be fair, he's still relatively young.
