I actually liked that Fiala shift until he took it to the blue line by himself and managed to cough it up. Then nice dive to keep it from Drai because he was losing that foot race too.

Let's come out and just be in a shell. Ice the puck over and over. Lose every faceoff. Even when they win a faceoff, EDM jumps on it.

This is the whole series right here. They had the two goal lead with one mulligan. Just used it. Time to wake up and push for a 4th goal.

Kings 0-4 on empty-netters this series. I am having such a hard time finding a play worse than that one by Byfield in Kings history. In my mind, that is just so unbelievably bad not to clear that puck there.

At least this intermission report is nailing it. They cannot believe the Kings approach in the 3rd, and they cannot believe Byfield's inability to clear that puck.

They said Oilers would probably need 20 shots in the 3rd, and they got 17, with 35 shot attempts.

it's maddening because the Kings look like the better team and should win these games. Special Teams have let them down in this game, and coaching approach in the 3rd. If the Kings would just play hockey like they do through 2 periods, they would be fine. They did not learn a single thing from Game 1. Blowing a 4 goal lead and two 3 goal leads. They looked like they learned their lesson by playing for real in the 3rd period of Game 2, but what is the mindset here in this game?
